Researchers from... see more Design Literacy International Network invites you to the talk “Perspectives on Design Literacy” by Liv Merete Nielsen, Erik Bohemia, Úrsula Bravo, and Yang Zhang, guest editors of the homonymous special issue published in 2023 by the Norwegian journal FormAkademisk.
Researchers from countries such as Chile, China, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, and Türkiye have contributed to this special journal issue, exploring Design Literacy in diverse contexts, including Primary, Secondary and Higher Education, as well as different cultural contexts.
The guest editors will use insights from this special issue to discuss the understanding of design education in such varied contexts.
The talk will be part of the Futures of Design Education cycle, hosted by the Design Research Society’s (DRS) Special Interest Group in Design Education (EdSIG).

Sorry to be self-promoting, but I have just gotten a paper covering the development of design mindset through method usage (what we have termed method teaching). Besides what I think is interesting research on factors influencing the learning outcome, it includes af conceptual framework of how method usage influence the development of design mindset. I expect some of you in this group will find it interesting. If you should have any questions, this is also an invitation to reach out, and perhaps get a discussion going in this forum.
