Parsons School of Design, a college of The New School, invites applications for a renewable term faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Fashion Design Technology in the School of Fashion.
We seek candidates with expertise in fashion design technology and related specialist knowledge of software such as CLO, Lectra, Optitex, and Gerber that facilitate digital integration across fashion design, prototyping, and production. Candidate’s practice should demonstrate strong digital and conceptual innovation in fashion design, and through their practice or scholarship evidence deep understanding of the potential for new tools and ways of working to positively impact the field. Special consideration will be given to candidates whose own professional or creative practice engages with technology to improve access to fashion for typically underserved communities and/or to question existing fashion systems and industry norms. The New School is committed to actively recruiting from a diverse pool of applicants. We encourage candidates from groups underrepresented in US higher education or underrepresented in the field to apply.
