The Festa del Grafisme in its 11th edition presents the Tallers de la Festa: a new summer workshop programme aimed at connecting design lovers with cutting edge international professionals.
The five-day immersive workshops, followed by two days of exhibitions, conferences and concerts, will take place from 10th to 16th of September 2018 in Portbou, the last Spanish beach before the border with France.

Anthony Burrill / SAY SOMETHING!
Our international proposal is the graphic artist, printer and designer known for his persuasive communication style.
Using a selection of Anthony's favorite fonts, we will cut, compose and paste large letters to create large posters, make bold statements and explore typography manually. Forget the laptop, make posters manually, make it simple! His workshops are a mixture of reflection and expression suggested in his preferred format, the poster.

What is left out, excluded and marginalized by the "officiality".
Those who can not participate as "the rest" because of their condition, situation, position, ideas, beliefs or way of life. Those that the system does not recognize as "we". When is it outside? Where are the limits? Who and how do they decide? The workshop is about questioning those limits through the proposal of small actions, interventions and artifacts.

Yes, express affirmation. No, expresses negation. Two sides will defend opposite terms. Yes and No in themselves, not as an instrument of. The dialogue between both will be developed through ephemeral / enduring supports, virtual / physical formats, fictional / documentary messages. Your success will depend on the ingenuity, the ambush, the pirouette, the metaphor, the calculation, the simplicity. An instrument of propaganda. A battle of roosters. A rhetorical exercise.
Leve Net (Paco and Eva) / PORTBOU’S GHOST CARTOGRAPHIES
Architects, filmmakers, photographers, curators, urban planners, total architects.
One day Portbou dawned obsolete: Europe dissolved the concept of border and this town lost its meaning. The station, of dimensions similar to those of the whole town, the 300 families of guardiaciviles, the traffic of liqueurs, cigars and nougats with the French, ... the red refugees fleeing the country, sleeping on the beach, the suicide of Walter Benjamín, .. all this happened in Portbou because it was a border place.
They propose a week to practice drifting through the territory and build stories. Throughout the week a ghost cartography of Portbou will be elaborated, which will rescue the genre of cartographies of "the lived thing" that fused the scientific representation with the experiential one.
