Why join the Design Research Society?

The Design Research Society ( DRS ) is the multi-disciplinary learned society for the design research community, promoting excellence in design research globally.

Membership is open to individuals interested in any aspect of design research and you can become a member for only £30 which includes:

• a free subscription to Design Research Quarterly (DRQ), a digital journal for members with news and original articles by leading scholars and practitioners
• access to leading figures in the design research community through our exclusive searchable database of DRS members
• your own DRS membership account with access to our database of members' interests and other on-line services
• significant discounts on DRS supported events and up to 50% off subscriptions for leading design, art and communication journals including: Design Studies, Design Issues, Digital Creativity Journal, CoDesign, Information Design Journal, and the ADCHE Journal
• the opportunity for experienced researchers to become Fellows of the Society (FDRS) through a peer review process (see menu bar)
• an opportunity to contribute to the international design research community

Joining is easy! Just register, log-in and enter your details and then use a credit card to pay for your annual membership.

You can register using the left hand menu of the Home page making sure you enter your correct e-mail address. Note your username and password. You will be sent a confirmation email and when you respond to this email your registration will be activated.

Use your username and password to log in and you will see a menu item 'New DRS membership'. Follow the prompts to pay your membership fees. The payments use the secure PayPal system. You will need a credit card or a debit card in order to make payments. Once you have completed the signup process, you will receive an emailed acknowledgement from PayPal that payment has been made. Payments are recurrent. That is, your membership fee will be charged each year unless you contact us. If you contact us to stop the membership payment we will immediately cancel it. For those who have already commenced paying for their membership using WorldPay, their arrangement will continue as before.

How do we communicate with you?

We will e-mail you from time to time with updates and further information. It is important that you keep your email address on the members' database up to date at all times, as this is the primary means by which we communicate.
