The DRS AGM (open to members only), is usually followed by a half day DRS symposium on a current theme and is open to all. The venue changes every year and is announced on the DRS website along with dates and times etc. In 2016 the DRS AGM will be held during the Biennial conference at Brighton.
2015 DRS AGM: Sheffield Hallam University
In 2015 the symposium theme was: working with different sectors and value systems: growth, application and analysis. We were fortunate to have secured three prominent design researchers to address this theme.
Professor Sue Walker will talk about design research doctoral training for the design researcher at the AHRC-funded Design Star Doctoral Training Centre. Professor Paul Chamberlain will discuss design research in the context of health and well-being through projects undertaken at Lab4Living in the Art and Design Research Centre at Sheffield Hallam University. Professor Linda Candy the co-editor of the books Interactive Experience in the Digital Age: Evaluating New Art Practice and Interacting: Art, Research and the Creative Practitioner will discuss evaluation in research and practice.
The symposium took place in the University's Cantor Building, 153 Arundel Street, Sheffield S1 2NU, Yorkshire, UK.
